Lorenzo Veracini’s book Colonialism: A Global History offers a sweeping and negative portrait of colonialism across the world throughout history, which provides compelling jumping off point for exploring globalism. The depicts different phases as global waves brought about by economic incentives (unequal) trade. These colonial trades, including both protectionist free trade, were sufficient depth breadth to lead “deep lasting impacts” on states involved – that is, arguments, while generally convincing, nonetheless suffer from an overly broad rendering, misses specific historical details.
